Christmas wedding at 30 james street Liverpool

What do you get if you mix, Christmas, twinkling fairy lights, love, laughter and a covid pandemic?

Well, you get Amanda & Tom's magical, Liverpool wedding ...

How did Tom propose?

Tom proposed to me during a family holiday to Orlando. We were visiting one of the Disney parks (Epcot) and there's a place there called the Boardwalk. Its quite quiet because not many people know its there (there's a little path down the side of 'France' that leads to a a boat that you can take there), its a boardwalk/pier with a man-made 'sea' and beach. I was annoyed because my parents didn't want to come (because they knew Tom was proposing) but me and Tom went anyway for lunch and a walk down the pier. There was an empty (other than the odd rabbit and tiny lizard haha) wedding pavilion there that we walked along and stood to enjoy the view. Then Tom asked me to marry him.. I said yes.

What made you choose your venue?

Our first valentines together Tom surprised me with a short stay at 30 James Street and a meal in their rooftop restaurant, we loved it and had stayed there a few times since.

Tell me about your theme?

No real theme due to small wedding but we chose dark colours with subtle christmas hints eg favors and table decoration

Tell me about your wedding dress experience and the dress…

I originally went with my sister in law and mother in law to pick a dress. I had no idea what I wanted and it was relatively last minute in terms of getting a dress but the women at the shop were amazing and helped me pick a dress I loved. After our first wedding was cancelled due to the pandemic I decided to visit the shop again to pick a veil to go with my dress as a treat for the wedding delay. However, when I put my dress back on I felt very unenthusiastic about wearing it. I told the women at the shop how I no longer loved my dress and they booked me in with my bridesmaids for a new dress hunt. I tried on almost every dress (I was very picky) and found one that I absolutely loved with a sleeve alteration. I went back the next day with my sister in law to check I was certain. The women at the shop and the owner were amazing and swapped the dresses.

What were your favourite moments/memories from the day?

Intimate photo shoot especially our secret reveal before the ceremony between just the two of us

We found the meal was extra special cause it was intimate and could easily interact with everyone as the numbers were small

Any advice or tips to any future couples?

Make sure you book everything early to reduce stress on the final run up to the day

Do what's best for you as a couple don't worry about what other people might want, they are your guests but it is your day and you want to remember it how you want
