Louise & Chris

How did Chris (or yourself) propose?
Chris proposed after work one night. He had just passed one of his exams and the plan was to go out and celebrate, but when I came home he was looking out the window waiting for me and as soon as I came in he got down on one knee ❤️ so special because it was in our home and just the two of us. Then he had arranged for both sets of parents to be at the meal which he had arranged, then we told them we were engaged (but my dad already knew as he had asked my him for his permission ).
What made you choose your venue?
It was just out of Southport but still close enough, the views and settings were perfect. Chris loves his golf so it was great for him and I love a spa day which was perfect for me!
Tell me about your theme, your wedding inspiration or colours.
We went for pastel pink and sage green, they are quite spring colours but our original date was in March but due to covid we had to move it to July but still kept the same themes. Really fresh and clean.
Tell me about your wedding dress experience and the dress…
Well I’d originally wanted a strapless princess dress, but it just didn’t suit me at all. Then I had about a year where I couldn’t try on any dresses because of covid!! But when we could I chose something I never thought I’d go for and I just fell in love with it ❤️ it was my mum who told me I should try it on so I have her to thank for that.
What were your favourite moments/memories from the day?
Favourite moments of the day we’re walking in and seeing Chris at the end of the aisle. I thought I’d be really emotional but as soon as I saw him I was just so excited to be stood next to him.
It just felt like the two of us up there.
Another moment was just sitting on the top table soaking it all in and just looking around and feeling so lucky people have joined us. Funny moment was being on the golf buggies, I could'nt stop laughing all the way round, and we have you to thank for that because I completely forgot!
Any advice or tips to any future couples?
Tips would be to not over complicate the day. We started off with so many extras I.e. photo booth, cheese cart, sweet cart etc which are great but because of covid we scaled everything right back and it worked out in the end because what meant the most to us was being with family and friends and not the material bits. The most important thing was purely getting married and starting a life together
