Your engagement shoot

Your engagement shoot is an exciting and fun way to capture you and your partner. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of your session and ensure the best results.

What to Wear

When it comes to your outfit, the key is to wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Here are a few helpful tips:

  • Comfort is Key: Choose clothing that you feel good in and can move freely in. Avoid anything too tight or restrictive so you can relax and enjoy the session.
  • Avoid Stripes & Large Logos: Clothes with bold stripes or big logos can distract from the focus of your photos – you and your partner! Opt for solid colours or subtle patterns for a more timeless look.
  • Coordinate with Your Partner: While you don’t need to wear matching outfits, try to choose colours that complement each other. Coordinating shades, such as earthy tones, pastels, or neutrals, help create a cohesive and harmonious feel in the photos.
  • Layer Up: If the weather is unpredictable, bringing a light jacket or sweater is always a good idea, especially for outdoor shoots.

How long will it take?

An engagement session typically lasts around an hour, though it may take a little longer depending on a few factors; the locations size plays a role - i.e places like the woods or Rivington Pike, which have large grounds, may require extra time to walk between different pots for shots. Additionally, how comfortable you feel in front of the camera - don't worry, I'm not going to ask you to do anything ridiculous! Some people simply take a bit more time to relax and get into the flow of the session and that's completely fine.

How many images will I receive & How long will they take?

The number of images you will receive depends on the session but you can expect anywhere between 30 - 50 images. Engagement shoots typically take around 2 weeks to edit and deliver but during peak season this can extend to 4 weeks.

Your engagement session should be fun and relaxed! It’s all about celebrating your love and creating beautiful memories. Wear what makes you feel your best, choose a location that resonates with you, and we’ll take care of the rest. If you have any questions or need more details about the locations, feel free to get in touch!
