Rivington Hall Barn Wedding Photography

Emma and Rob’s wedding was set in the enchanting surroundings of Rivington Hall Barn. This historic venue, nestled in the heart of the Lancashire countryside, provided the perfect backdrop for their special day. With its rustic charm, grand oak beams, and picturesque gardens, the barn created an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy that reflected Emma and Rob’s happy day.

From the vows being exchanged beneath twinkling fairy lights to the fun champagne sprays (there were more than one), every moment of their wedding was a treat to capture. Join us as we take you through the highlights of their magical day.

What made you choose the Rivington Hall Barn for your Wedding?

We chose our venue due to our personal connection, Robert and his brother have both worked there for extended periods of time and loved it. It’s also somewhere that I’d been with my stepdad and Nana (that are no longer with us) so it felt like they were a part of the day. The staff were amazing with us every time we went for a viewing and made us feel at home.

Tell me about your theme, colours and/or style for the day.

I started with sunflowers, getting married in July and being so bright, they made me smile, I also thought they went with the barn aesthetic. I worked from there and went with bridesmaid dresses that looked nice with them. Robert has worn suits on a regular basis for work, and having been to other weddings we wanted something different, so we went for a tuxedo for him, my dress was also fairly classic.

What was your favourite moments/memories of the day?

We really enjoyed our speeches, my dads words were so special and emotional, it was perfect. Also, it’s from the photos of the speeches, and from Lynette pointing it out, that it runs in our family to have very expressive faces. The best mans speech was also fantastic and really captured both of us. Our other favourite moment was we had decided that we wanted to do a champagne pop with the bridesmaids and the groomsman which was so much fun.

Any tips or advice for future couples planning their special day?

Beforehand, we decided we wanted to spend as much of the day together as possible, so we had the same memories of the day. This worked really nicely and meant that our guests got to speak to both of us at the same time instead of having to find one of us. It made the day feel like our wedding as opposed to another family gathering. We also chunked up our planning into a little bit here and there so it wasn’t overwhelming.

What made you choose Lynette Matthews Photography

Lynette was so friendly and we ended up having such a good laugh every time we got together, it felt more like having a friend capturing our day. I also really liked the style of her photos, her gallery had bright photos as opposed to photos being edited to be darker.
