Bartle Hall Wedding Photography

Bartle Hall is a charming country house hotel snuggled within beautiful landscaped gardens and woodlands, located between Preston and Blackpool. Bartle Hall is one of my favourite venues to return to and the staff their are fabulous.

Gemma & Paul's colourful, nerd-tastic vibes were an utter delight. As an adorer of Disney & Harry Potter, I loved seeing their little ideas and nods to their favourite things pop up throughout the day. See how many you can spot in some of my favourite images from their day (see below). Here is what they had to say about their special day.

What made you choose your wedding venue?

The feeling when we walked in the building. It’s totally cliche but when we stood in the ceremony room there was no decor, chairs or anything and we both said this felt right. Paul stood at the alter end and I was at the door and he said he could imagine me walking down the aisle. We didn’t get that feeling anywhere else. It also gave us the perfect mix of rustic and elegant that we wanted.

Tell me about your theme, colours and/or style for the day.

Elegant nerd theme, we had nods to our favourite fandoms throughout the day in different areas from table names, the boys had cuff links, the cake was Harry Potter, a Lego stitch in the brides bouquet. Colour wise we just spent a while on google and settled on a combo of sage and pink, but then added in pops of bright colour in the florals to highlight the end of summer/ start of autumn.

What was your favourite moments/memories of the day?

Seeing alot of the DIY items come together , all the planning and stress. Having friends and family all together in one room to celebrate with us was really special as some travelled a long way for us which means a lot.

It’s hard to pick one moment in particular for either of us. Seeing Paul at the end of the aisle waiting for me was really special, our first dance as well was really memorable and special.

.

Any tips or advice for future couples planning their special day?

Try and spend as much of the day together as you can, and make sure you take time to slow down and take everything in, even just one moment. We had a sweetheart table and that was is for us, during the meal it gave us time to sit and look out over everyone else and we realised just how happy the whole room was.

Be true to yourselves during the planning, the day is yours and it’s about you. Everyone will have opinions, but try not to let too many push you into what you’re not wanting.

A few words about Lynette Matthews Photography

She’s just amazing! We didn’t even realise half the time she was there and half the pictures we didn’t realise were being taken making them so natural and un staged.

She was a god send from the moment we met her at the wedding fair, from the initial meeting, and all our questions. The engagement shoot was an absolute riot and she made us so comfortable by the wedding day everything was so natural and the photos are amazing!! She put everyone else at ease on the day and so many people commented on how fabulous she was.

We couldn’t imagine having gone with anyone else for our pictures.
